FASHION ALERT.
I recently found this great fashion blog called the Sartorialist that allows me to look at really pretty people wearing really pretty things. Its a street fashion show.. every.day. i love it because the one thing i love the most about going to Europe is to check out the fashion. with the lovely internets i can do it from my couch. *cha-ching* here are some shots i liked the most:
lots more to be seen for those of you out there that don't have a lot of money but love looking at fashion

Sofia Coppola= my idol.
Sofia Coppola has come out with another bohemian, cali sun-kissed fantastic film called Somewhere. like her other movies (lost in translation, virgin suicides, marie antoinette) she plays with colors, music, and characters to mix time periods but also adds her own, very distinct, style of direction. no matter her movies are about, i think they are the most visually pleasing to watch with spring pastel colors and a sort of "white-washed" film.
i do not know anything about making a film. and when describing films, i usually make up my own words.
but i do know how her films make me feel. and i love when directors are able to make movies about various life themes but still keep an interesting and "emotion-provoking"style to them. i feel the same for director alejandro gonzalez-inaratu. Sofia Coppola makes everything pretty and transports the audience into a bohemian-chic 70s portrait where even if people have money, they look natural, sun-kissed, and like they got out of bed already dressed stylishly.

10. you will forget all this.
Zindelo's posterous blog has a lot of thoughtful posts about life and how we can work within ourselves to make our life better and thus, the lives of people we surround ourselves with. This work entails being mindful of our thoughts, our words, and our actions. All of these take time. I can definitely say that in my life I need to be mindful and practice thinking positively. Reflect on my thoughts and ask myself why i am thinking this way and how productive it is. what do these thoughts mean? I need to reflect on my words and speak slowly and thinking quickly. i need to be responsible for all my actions. this of course doesn't mean trying to reduce mistakes, that's impossible. but, instead i want to really try and listen to my intuition without family and friend's opinion, without society's opinion, and without giving in for the easy way out. this takes real reflection and sitting by myself to work out my thoughts and my own personal goals for myself as a human that only has a small period of time to work things out. this list is one to not forget during this ongoing reflection and growing life period.
Ten Rules for Being Human
by Cherie Carter-Scott
1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this.

Where can I locate these skills??? hopefully if I do, I won't start saying words like krumpin'... I'm not sure what that means.
Two things came to my mind after seeing this video:
1. I wish I had the ability to feel this beat physically where my legs and arms would do awesome things and thus, have some sweet crowd pleasing dance moves.
2. I hope my kids may someday have these sweet skills (skills that they would have to inherit from a person OUTSIDE of any person in my family.. if that's possible.. ?questionmark?) because then i could go to their school talent recitals and be like, "yup, that's my kid."

I would be happy to have any of these in my future home. pleasethnx.
I love when you find a bunch of different styles and can combine them to make your home creative. This is why i am a serial thrifter. if you are under 10 dollars and a completely different style than what I got, you are mine. of course most of these things can be found in a pier one imports or bed bath and beyond. but its the slight mixes with random touches (like the wishbone in the last pic!) that make a home unique. i can't wait to someday put these kinds of touches in my house :)

I'm really excited. Not sure what the other pieces will look like but... i think it is safe to say that mr. klein is in no way attached to the color blue. google him, you'll see what i mean.
